Our Heritage
Rooted in Tamil Tradition
The Vasambu Story
Vasambu (Acorus calamus) has been revered in Tamil Nadu for thousands of years. Known as 'Vacha' in Sanskrit and 'Sweet Flag' in English, this sacred herb is mentioned in the ancient Siddha texts as a powerful remedy for the mind and body.
Our journey began in the villages of Tamil Nadu, where traditional Vaidyars (healers) have preserved the knowledge of herbal remedies for generations. We partner directly with these knowledge keepers to bring you formulations that are truly authentic.
Wisdom From Our Ancestors
Every product in our collection follows recipes that have been passed down through generations. We use traditional brass mortars (kal ural), stone grinders (ammikkal), and clay vessels – never modern machinery that might compromise the potency of our herbs.
Our preparation methods follow the lunar calendar and seasonal rhythms, just as our ancestors did. This ensures maximum efficacy and alignment with natural cycles.
Our Values
-
Purity
We source only the finest, organically grown herbs from trusted farmers who share our commitment to quality.
-
Authenticity
Our formulations are based on classical Siddha texts and prepared under the guidance of traditional practitioners.
-
Sustainability
We work with fair-trade principles and support the livelihoods of farming communities across Tamil Nadu.
From Farm to Your Home
We work directly with small-scale farmers in the Western Ghats and rural Tamil Nadu. Our Vasambu is harvested from pristine river banks, our turmeric from the fertile soils of Erode, and our vetiver from the traditional growing regions of Tiruchuli.
Every ingredient is handpicked at peak potency, sun-dried naturally, and processed without any chemical intervention.
